Death Of A Star
So yesterday we said goodbye to another great talent, who was lost at the hands of drink and drugs. Despite her well-publicised struggle, it was a shock and a sadness to hear of her death and it is a huge loss of true talent to the world.
I’ve been listening to Whitney Houston, since I was a kid. She was one of the first stars, who made me think “Wow!” I remember singing Greatest Love of All at my karaoke-themed 12th birthday party. I’d got her Greatest Hits album as a present that morning and her voice just made my hair stand up on end.
A lot of my Facebook friends are posting statuses such as “no personal attachment, sorry” about it and sarcastic posts about how people will suddenly say they were huge fans of hers but as a genuine, long-time fan of Whitney, it is sad and anyone who says that her songs aren’t touching and true are lying. There is a Whitney song for every occasion and to die in such tragic circumstances at the age of just 48 is devastating.
This song is incredible.
