INTERVIEW: Evan Haughey of Hero Jr

After reviewing their latest single Naked last week, I was lucky enough to get a few words from Hero Jr frontman Evan Haughey. Ever wanted to get inside the mind of an Indiana rocker? Well, the wait is finally over!

Who are your main influences?
Life and experiences. Neil Young, Stones, Led Zep, Floyd, Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Sly Stone, Sigur Ros, Flaming Lips -great songs and the people who interpret them!

What has been the band’s biggest achievement?

Writing and recording an album via Skype to London and having the result sound like we were in the same room. Also, opening for The Offspring, performing at Superbowl XLVI and booking our own nationwide tours.

What’s your favourite Hero Jr song?

Bottom Of The End, Cracked and Kindred.

Do you have any plans to come to London? If yes, when?

Ken has been living, recording and performing in London for six years and the band is working on the spring/summer festival season.

What are the band working on at the moment?

Our mid-west tour and writing songs for the next record.

We’re all committed to Hero Jr although Ken writes and produces with  many other acts internationally. Check out for more details.
